Septic System Installation & Repair in Cascade, ID
New installs, repairs, and full replacements. Designed and installed to Central District Health and Idaho DEQ standards.
What Septic Systems Is
Septic work covers the design, installation, repair, and replacement of on-site wastewater systems — including the tank, drain field (also called a leach field), distribution box, and all the connecting lines. At Cascade Excavation, we install new septic systems for new construction, replace failing systems for existing homes, and repair specific components when a full replacement isn't needed. Every system we install is designed and built to Central District Health and Idaho DEQ standards, sized for the home it serves, and located to protect your well, your neighbors' wells, and any nearby surface water. We coordinate the soil testing, system design, permit, install, and final inspection.
When You Need It
You need septic work in three main scenarios. First: new construction. Any home or cabin not on city sewer needs a septic system, and that system has to be permitted and installed before you can occupy the building. Second: failing systems. Signs include slow drains throughout the house, sewage smell in the yard, soggy grass over the drain field, sewage backing up into the lowest fixtures, or a tank that's full again right after pumping. Third: planned replacement. Septic systems don't last forever — most run 20 to 40 years depending on use and care. If yours is in that range and you're seeing early warning signs, it's better to plan a replacement than to react to an emergency.
Our Process
Every septic project starts with a site evaluation and soil test (a percolation test or test pit) to determine what kind of system the soil will support and how big the drain field needs to be. We work with a licensed designer to create a system specific to your site — conventional gravity, pressure-dosed, mound, or whatever the soils require. We submit the design to Central District Health for permit. Once permitted, we excavate the tank hole and drain field area, set the tank, install distribution lines and the field bedding, run the line from the house, and bring in inspection. After inspection passes, we backfill carefully (no heavy equipment over the field once it's set), restore the surface, and provide you with a system map and care instructions. For repairs, we diagnose first — sometimes it's a clogged distribution box or a single failing line, not the whole field — and replace only what's needed.
